What to expect from the Hawks this season
What to expect from the Hawks
With the Basketball season here and the Hawks playing their first game today here is what I expect to see from the Hawks after coming off a less-than-exciting 36-46 season and let's get this out the way first: Unfortunately, injuries are most definitely here to stay in Atlanta this season. Along with the inconsistent offense and defense shown, I highly doubt we'll have a winning season. But even with these things, I believe Hawks fans have much to look forward to this season.
New player
During the 2024 draft, in which we miraculously got the first pick in, we chose Zaccharie, a young brother from France. I'm currently expecting a good season from the young fella. As long as he stays confident on the court and healthy, he has the ability to become a court threat. I doubt that Hawks coaching will be able to get him to his full potential, but even so, you need to get ready to see him make 12+ points per game.
Trae
Trae Young has always
been a powemaker on the Hawks, averaging ~26 and 11 assists per game. Making All-Star and tying the NBA record for consecutive games with 30 or more points there's no doubt he's an amazing player. Coincide this with his assists consistently increasing every year if continued he'd most definitely surpass 11 assists a game. Young has always been a leader in assists. I don't think it would be strange to say Trae could go for 30-point games and post more assists in a game.

Defense
Let's just call a spade a spade, our defense last year was unapologetically atrocious, one of the worst in the league. B
ut this new season might bring us better defensive opportunities and depth. Zaccharie and Young could become a dynamic duo on both defense and offense although it's still murky.

Overall
My final conclusion, I believe the Hawks can have a good season this year and my final prediction of our 82 games will be 44-38 but who knows what this next season brings to the table?
